York RLFC Foundation is excited to announce the latest wave of upcoming Coach Education workshops as part of York RLFC's Club Support and Development Plan.

Throughout the year, we organise a variety of coaching education workshops to support player and club development. These will include the following courses: the RFL Level One Coaching Course, the RFL Level Two Coaching Course, the RFL Referee Course, the Primary Rugby League Community Coaches Workshop, and the Primary Rugby League Teachers Course.

 

The Foundation offer several opportunities per year for new and existing coaches and volunteers to get involved with the sport. Our 2026 Coach Programme includes more opportunities than ever as we look to support the continued development within our region. This programme of events will be delivered in a variety of formats, whether linked to sessions with the head coach, through the Excel programme or by organising RFL Coach Education workshops.

Alongside this the Foundation run regular sessions for Primary and Secondary school teachers to support their knowledge and understanding around rugby league.

 

The Foundation also work with clubs to help their player recruitment through the work in schools and support local community clubs with various initiatives throughout a year.

How we plan to support clubs:

· Match day activity LNER Community Stadium

· Player recruitment and taster sessions

· Touch Festivals.

· Sign posting new players to community clubs.

· Schools programme, delivering Rugby League in schools to help drive recruitment to community clubs.

· York RLFC Excel Lions Talent Pathway leading our Squires Programme.

Coach Education Spring Workshops

All courses in the Spring 2026 series are available free of charge, although pre-booking is essential by completing the booking link below.

Courses are suitable for coaches/teachers working with children and young people.

Sessions may include some light practical activity. We ask you wear appropriate sports clothes.

All workshops are due to take place at the LNER Community Stadium, Kathryn Ave, Huntington, York YO32 9AF.
