No forward made more appearances for the Knights last season than front-rower Michael.

Now in his third season at York, Michael made his loan switch from Huddersfield Giants into a permanent move ahead of 2023.

The prop made 19 appearances in 2022 for the Knights, featuring in the 26-24 victory over Halifax Panthers 26-24 at The Shay - York's first win in the Betfred Championship Play-Offs.

Michael’s performances saw him win a spot in Ireland’s World Cup squad in the autumn, starting at loose forward in the 48-10 defeat to New Zealand.

The front-rower made one Betfred Super League appearance for Huddersfield in 2020, coming off the bench in a 19-6 defeat at Wigan Warriors.

He has also represented Whitehaven and Swinton Lions across loan spells away from the Giants.
