Ward took his first step into first-team rugby league with York last season after departing from the Hull KR Academy.

The outside back, who can play on the wing and at centre, made eight appearances for the Knights last term, scoring a try on his debut in the 42-13 win over Newcastle Thunder in the Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth Round.

The Heworth ARLFC product went on to score tries against Widnes Vikings and Featherstone Rovers, while also crossing for a four-pointer against Doncaster while on loan at Rochdale Hornets last year.
