Ward is one of a number of Heworth ARLFC products to have gone on to represent the Knights in recent years, providing a try-scoring outlet from either centre or wing.

The outside back departed the Hull KR Academy for York after impressing during the 2022 pre-season.

Ward went on to make eight appearances for the Knights in his debut season, including scoring a try on his debut in the 42-13 win over Newcastle Thunder in the Betfred Challenge Cup Fourth Round.

The York youngster went to feature seven times for Andrew Henderson’s side in 2023, scoring a brace in the 52-12 Betfred Challenge Cup victory over West Bowling in March.
