Half-Back

Liam Harris was promoted to Captain ahead of the 2024 season, succeeding the retiring Chris Clarkson and continuing his remarkable journey with York Knights.

The half-back first turned out for York in 2017, scoring 14 tries in 18 appearances for the then-Betfred League One Knights while on loan from Hull KR.

He returned for the end of the 2019 campaign, again on loan, this time from Hull FC, and played a vital role in the Knights’ third-place finish in the Betfred Championship - the Club’s highest placing since 1985/86.

After a spell at Halifax Panthers, Harris signed a permanent deal at York ahead of 2022, crossing for a team-high 18 tries that year thanks to his devastating running game, which included a try against former club Fax in the Betfred Championship Play-Off Qualifiers at The Shay.

In 29 appearances in 2025, Harris contributed 17 tries, 102 goals and three drop goals, the most memorable being the golden point extra time one pointer to win the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup at Wembley.

He was named as the Graham Steadman Player of the Year and shortlisted for the Betfred Championship Player of the Year.
