York RLFC can confirm the players who are leaving the club following the conclusion of the 2025 season.

Alongside Connor Bailey, who will be joining Super League's Hull FC, we are also saying goodbye to Joe Brown, Conor Fitzsimmons, Jacob Gannon, Jack Potter and James Farrar.

Popular forward, Ukuma Ta'ai is retiring at the end of the year.

Connor Bailey - #1935 - šŸ¤ Innovate Associates

At home in the second row or centre, Connor Bailey joined York for the 2024 season from Newcastle Thunder, and he's gone on to be one of the stars of the side in both last year's play off run and this season's League Leaders Shield win. A player popular with the fans for his hard work and flair, he's joining Hull FC for 2026. He scored 19 tries in 63 appearances.

Joe Brown - #1906 - šŸ¤ Purple Chilli Events Catering

Brown joined the Knights as a 23-year-old from Bradford Bulls ahead of the 2022 season and quickly established himself as a proven try scorer, crossing 56 times in 110 appearances. Effective on the wing and at full back, he's scored some crucial and spectacular tries in his four years at the club.

Conor Fitzsimmons - #1922 - šŸ¤ Innovate Associates

Popular forward Fitzsimmons joined York from Workington for the 2023 season and quickly became an integral part of the team. He scored 12 tries in 68 appearances for the Knights.

Jacob Gannon - #1904 - šŸ¤ North Fitness

After initially making two appearances on loan from Warrington in 2021, Gannon returned to York in 2024 on a season long loan from Leigh Leopards before making the move permanent for 2025. He made 26 appearances, scoring twice.

Ukuma Ta'ai - #1926 - šŸ¤ IMO Mike McLeod

Ta’ai brought plenty of experience with him when he arrived at the club for the start of 2023, having spent eight years in Super League with Huddersfield Giants, and before that, three years in the NRL with New Zealand Warriors. A consistent performer, he's also brought a lot to the culture off the field. In his 58 appearances, he scored 8 tries.

James Farrar - šŸ¤ IMO John Stabler

Farrar signed ahead of the 2025 season after coming through Hull KR's Academy. An Irish international, Farrar has been a good squad member without making an appearance for York.

Jack Potter - #1945 - šŸ¤ York St.John University

Young half back Potter arrived at York in 2024 from Hull KR. He made three appearances for the club, scoring one try and kicking four goals.

Everyone at York RLFC would like to thank all of them for their efforts at the club and wish them the very best for the future!
