Akwiwu signs again for Valkyrie!

York Valkyrie have retained centre, Adaoha Akwiwu for 2026, thanks to the support of Squad Builder!
The 22-year old is going into her second season with the Valkyrie, after initially joining the club in July last year after a spell in rugby union. She made five appearances in 2025, scoring one try in the 86-0 win over Warrington Wolves.
A former Leeds Rhinos Academy player, she made her Super League debut in 2021, before suffering an ACL injury. She returned to action the following season, making four appearances in total for Lois Forsell’s side, and scoring one try.
Akwiwu can’t wait to get the season started.
“This will be my first full season as a Valkyrie and with a fresh coaching staff, new players there’s a growing energy at York this year!
“I’m looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for me and the team!”
