York Valkyrie have retained forward, Savannah Andrade for the next two years, thanks to the support of Squad Builder!

The England international has signed a new contract, meaning she’ll remain at the Valkyrie until the end of 2027.

A stellar season in 2025 saw her named as the Julie Cronin Player of the Year at the club’s end of season awards evening, and she also picked up the prizes of Valkyrie Forward of the Year and Players’ Player. She scored 16 tries in 19 appearances as York finished fourth in the Betfred Women’s Super League and reached the play off semi-finals and the Betfred Challenge Cup semi-finals.

Since joining the club in 2021 from Bradford, Andrade has been part of the teams which won two League Leader’s Shields and two Super League titles. She also played in the Challenge Cup final in 2021, which York lost to St.Helens.

After switching from the centres into the second row, Andrade has gone from strength to strength, and will have her sights set on an England spot for next year’s world cup.

Andrade said "I’m really excited to commit to the Valks again as I head into my sixth year with the club.

"I feel like I’ve grown into a senior player, and that’s a credit to the environment we’ve built here.

"I can’t wait to get started with the girls and to work with our new coaching team."
