🤝 York RLFC Match Previews are proudly partnered by David Lloyd York!
York Knights are back on the road for the first time since April this Sunday as they make the trip to third-placed Batley Bulldogs (3pm) in the Betfred Championship.
The Knights were unable to maintain their four-match winning streak at the Summer Bash last weekend, falling to a 46-16 defeat to unbeaten Betfred Championship leaders Featherstone Rovers.
York had previously secured a pair of wins over Newcastle Thunder (22-18 and 26-22) and London Broncos (30-28 and 36-12).
After five straight matches at the LNER Community Stadium, York will make a rare trip outside of North Yorkshire as they visit an in-form Batley.
The Bulldogs are third in the table after a 20-12 win over Halifax Panthers at the Summer Bash took their Betfred Championship winning streak to four straight matches.
Prior to their victory over Halifax, Craig Lingard's side edged past Play-Off rivals Bradford Bulls (16-21), Widnes Vikings (11-4) and Toulouse Olympique (17-16).
Head Coach Lingard will depart Batley at the end of the season for Betfred Super League side Castleford Tigers as Assistant Coach.
The Bulldogs boss is currently combining both roles and, having led Batley to the Betfred Championship Grand Final last year, suffering a 44-12 defeat to Leigh Leopards, will seeking to end his time at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium.
York head to Batley having not lost at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium since 2013. In the most recent meeting of the two clubs in West Yorkshire in February last year, tries in either half from Ronan Michael and Will Oakes saw the Knights edge a tense affair 10-4.
The Knights also managed to come away with a point during July 2019's 14-14 draw, as Cameron Scott and Josh Jordan-Robert tries combined with three Connor Robinson goals.
York Knights are back on the road as they travel to third-placed Batley Bulldogs in the Betfred Championship on Sunday (3pm).
Admission to the Jo Cox Memorial Game at the Fox's Biscuits Stadium is FREE, with no advanced ticket required.
