York Knights have brought winger, Jon Bennison to the club for 2026, thanks to the support of Squad Builder!

The 22-year-old is a product of St.Helens Academy, coming through to establish himself as a Super League player.

He made a try scoring Super League debut in 2021, scoring against Salford, and he went on to establish himself in the team the following year, scoring in the 2022 Grand Final win over Leeds.

Bennison was also part of the travelling squad that won the 2023 World Club Challenge in Australia.

After going out on loan to Widnes Vikings in 2025, he was recalled and scored in the thrilling play off win at Headingley against Leeds Rhinos.

Knights head coach, Mark Applegarth believes there’s a lot more to come from him.

“He’s a young kid that’s been in a great environment at St.Helens, and he’s looking to establish himself as a first choice. I’m delighted we can offer him a contract to give him that platform to do that.

“I think he’ll add a lot of composure to what we do.

“He’s got some talent and I’m just really looking forward to working with him.”

Bennison spoke about his signing: "I’m absolutely delighted to be joining York, it’s a very exciting time to join the club and keep building on the great success this team has already had.

"The ambitions of the club were clear from the outset and something I couldn’t wait to be a part of."
