York Knights longest serving player, Jack Teanby is leaving the club to join Keighley Cougars.

He signed for the Knights in 2018 after the club's promotion to the Championship and he quickly became a fan favourite, making 32 appearances in his first year, scoring 4 tries.

He went on to make a total of 145 appearances for the club, scoring 13 tries and helping guide the Knights to two 1895 Cup finals and three play-off semi-finals.

To top off a superb Knights career, Teanby earned his first piece of silverware with the club, being part of the squad that won the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup Final this year.

York RLFC Chairman, Clint Goodchild, said: “Jack is everything you want in a player. Selfless, brave and a great clubman always having time for the fans and his teammates.

"It’s a sad day for the Knights as we say goodbye to one of our favourite sons. That being said I have no doubt he will find himself amongst our Hall of Famers when he eventually hangs his boots up.

Thank you Jack for always putting your body on the line and leading from the front.”

York RLFC would like to thank Jack for all his service and dedication to the club, and wish him all the best for the future.
