First York are looking forward to continuing their partnership with York City Knights, working to promote the club within the wider community.
The partnership supports the club’s on and off-field activities, inspires the growth of sport in the region, and creates easier and cheaper travel for fans to access matches.
Zero-emission electric buses are used on the Service 9 route from York Train Station to the Monks Cross Park & Ride site situated next to the LNER Community Stadium. The Service 9 picks up from outside the train station every 10 minutes, making it a convenient way to travel to games from York City Centre.
These buses are helping cut carbon and exhaust emissions to improve air quality in the city as well as reducing traffic congestion in busy areas of York. Travelling by bus provides Knights fans a greener and more sustainable way to get to games than travelling by car.
Downloading the First Bus App takes the stress out of travelling to and from matches. Fans can plan their journey to the stadium ahead of time, purchase tickets in advance and track when their bus should be arriving.
This season, the bus operator has introduced a new ‘York City Knights 10 Game Season Ticket’ to encourage fans to catch the bus to travel to games. This is available on the First Bus App for £44. Knights fans are able to purchase this ticket for half price at just £22 using a promo code that has been sent to the York City Knights mailing list.
