Father and son duo Nick and Lucas are raising funds for York RLFC Foundation this weekend, by taking on a Triathlon at York Sport Village, Heslington, York!
Lucas will be taking part in the kids Triathlon on Saturday 16th August in the 8-11 age category. This involves a 50metre swim, 2km cycle and 1km run, while Nick is tackling the Open age Triathlon on Sunday 17th August, including a 400m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.
Both have kindly offered to do their respective triathlons in aid of York RLFC Foundation, to help raise vital funds for all the programmes we run in York and North Yorkshire. Lucas himself has been inspired to raise funds after a number of teachers and representatives from his school kindly volunteered and took part in the recent York 10K, also in aid of the Foundation, which raised over £1300.
York RLFC Foundation coach Mark Prangnell said:
"We would like to say a big thank you to both Nick and Lucas for this kind offer and any donation towards their challenge is greatly appreciated.
"All funds raised will go directly towards all the work the Foundation does in the local community including our Wheelchair Rugby League team, RugBees girls programme, Excel Player Development Programme and our Disability Rugby League teams."
