Featherstone Rovers v York Knights - Match Preview

York Knights will be aiming to end Featherstone Rovers’ unbeaten start to the Betfred Championship season when they make the trip to the Millennium Stadium on Sunday (3pm).

Featherstone have won all of their six Betfred Championship fixtures to date, racking up 288 points and conceding 50 in the process. No side has scored more or conceded fewer.

Riley Dean and Gareth Gale both bagged braces in a 50-0 opening round win at last year’s Betfred League One champions Keighley Cougars before Play-Off rivals Halifax Panthers were beaten 46-22.

Rovers thrashed Whitehaven 76-4 and surpassed a half-century once more against Newcastle Thunder, winning 56-6.

Sean Long’s side edged past Bradford Bulls 26-12 at the start of the month and, most recently, prevailed 34-6 at Swinton Lions.

The West Yorkshire Club did however fall at the first hurdle in the Betfred Challenge Cup in between their two latest league wins.

Halifax avenged their February defeat by coming from behind to triumph 22-18 at the Millennium Stadium earlier this month.

York will be seeking to return to winning ways after a 14-12 defeat to Whitehaven last time out ended a three-game streak of victories.

To do so, the Knights will need to end their hoodoo at Featherstone. Rovers have won their last eight home meetings with York, a run stretching back to a 22-16 win for the Knights in the 2006 Northern Rail Cup.

Tickets are available for York Knights' next match against Featherstone Rovers in the Betfred Championship on Sunday (3pm) at the Millennium Stadium. General admission tickets are priced at £20 for Adults, £15 for Concessions (Over-65s) and FREE for Under-16s.
