A young York Knights' fan has set himself a challenge to raise funds for York RLFC Foundation and the MND Association, all inspired by Sir Kevin Sinfield!

Lucas has come up with his own 7 in 7 challenge, aiming to run 7 kilometres every day for 7 days.

He’ll start on Sunday 16th August and end on Sunday 23rd August, on the same day that York Knights and York Valkyrie host their counterparts from Leeds Rhinos at the LNER Community Stadium.

The 10 year-old, who undertook a triathlon along with his dad, Nick, last year to raise money for the Foundation, is being supported by his mum and dad throughout the challenge.

Lucas has also recently been inspired by his mum and the team of runners who completed the York 10K on behalf of the Foundation. Lucas also took part in the Junior Run of 2.5K representing the York RLFC foundation.

Donations will be very much appreciated and they will help both organisations to continue the fantastic work and support and provide for others.

Sir Kevin Sinfield is also embarking on his seventh and final challenge to raise funds for the MND community, and he’ll be visiting York and the LNER Community Stadium as he runs an ultra marathon every day for seven days.

Starting in Hull, he’ll visit all 12 of the English Super League stadiums before finishing at Old Trafford for the Grand Final on Saturday 3rd October.

He’ll be arriving in York around lunchtime on Monday 28th September, and at the Stadium around 1.15pm where fans are being encouraged to gather to welcome him.
