York Knights are delighted to announce Scott Galeano has agreed a contract extension, thanks to support from Squad Builder!

Already contracted for the 2027 season, the 28-year-old Australian has now committed to a further two years with the Knights, extending his stay at the club until the end of 2029.

After scoring 21 tries in 23 appearances in his first season at the LNER Community Stadium in 2025, Galeano followed that up with a further 12 tries in 25 appearances in 2026.

He got on the scoresheet with a try in the memorable 19-18 win over Hull KR in York’s first ever Betfred Super League match and a hat-trick in the win against Toulouse in April.

Galeano joined the Knights from Sunshine Coast Falcons, a feeder club for Melbourne Storm, where he played in the Queensland Rugby League Hostplus Cup for three seasons.

He’s since gone on to become a fan’s favourite at York, proving to be equally at home on the wing or in the centres.

Galeano said: "I'm really happy to secure my future with York.

"I’ve enjoyed my time here, and I’m excited about what’s ahead."

Head coach, Mark Applegarth believes the best is still to come from the player.

“I think this is a massive statement from the club.

“He can play centre and wing to a very good standard and he’s got great athletic abilities.

“I think he’s still got his best rugby in front of him and over the next three years I think we’ll see him flourish.”
