Evora Construction have been a club partner for the last two years and, as director Richard Elam explains, being a part of the club’s progress over that time has been a great experience.
“We decided to join the Knights’ family having been impressed by the leadership of the club shown by James Ford and Jon Flatman,” he outlined, adding his belief that the partnership between the two could work well towards developing both brands.
While Evora Construction’s association with the club is a relatively new one, Elam’s has been much longer. “I’ve been a rugby league fan throughout my life and, since moving to York in 1994, have visited the terraces of the club at varying levels,” he explained. “Since the new era and becoming a sponsor, though, I travel home and away to all games.”
As a club we are sure that fans agree that being a part of the Knights family at this time is an exciting one and it promises to continue in the future with the imminent move to the LNER Community Stadium in the coming months. Elam and Evora Construction are no different and, when asked what the company gets out of it’s association with the Knights, he noted “our decision to sponsor the club was to support it’s progression within the city as the leading sporting team as well as to raise the profile of our brand and business across the city’s communities which, over time, with increase awareness of Evora Construction.”
Of the upcoming move to the LNER Community Stadium, Elam expressed his excitement and belief that it provides the grounding for a great future for the club. “Moving to the new stadium is a great opportunity for the club and sponsors alike as it provides a far superior facility for the matchday experience and a much better opportunity for hospitality and entertainment,” he said. “We have been very fortunate to have visited the new stadium several times and also undertook the fitting out of the new Knights changing rooms. We are sure that once all fans can come to the venue, they will be very impressed with the facilities on offer.”
If you are out and about in York, the chances are that you have seen Evora’s branding on commercial sites throughout the city. Of the company, Elam said “we pride ourselves on delivering high quality construction projects which are managed hands-on by the owners of the business.” Based in Clifton Moor since it’s inception twelve years ago, Evora Construction works across all sectors but particularly focuses on education, industrial, commercial, residential and healthcare projects.
“As a business we are always looking to work with people to deliver commercial construction projects to the very best of our abilities and would welcome any referrals for commercial construction projects,” Elam added.
Finally, as the nation emerges out of lockdown, Evora Construction’s director suggested that fans and the wider society take heed of the ideology head coach James Ford professes. “We know that he has said many times to the players that they need to focus on making the best version of themselves and this motto is something we think everyone would benefit from.”
