The family of York RLFC Hall of Fame member, Dave Rippon, is preparing to undertake a fundraising challenge to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

Rippon played 300 times for the club through the 1960s and 1970s. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2017.

On 31st May, Jill, Sam, Olivia and Nigel will be walking 26 miles in the Lake District to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

A ‘Hall of Fame’ sportsman in both cricket and professional rugby league, Dave has been the life and soul of his family and the wider community. However, dementia can all too quickly stifle that spirit.

Dementia is a cruel disease which can strike anyone. The family are asking for help to raise some much-needed money for Alzheimer's Society, to allow them to continue supporting families living with this disease and to fund vital research.
