York Knights are delighted to announce that Head Coach Andrew Henderson and winger AJ Towse have been shortlisted for the Betfred Championship Coach of the Year and Betfred Championship Young Player of the Year awards respectively.
Henderson took charge at York ahead of the 2023 season and led the Knights to a sixth-placed finish inside the Betfred Championship Play-Offs in his debut campaign.
Despite missing numerous key players through injury, York ended their season with an astounding 10 wins from their last 11 matches to rise from 12th to sixth, cutting a nine-point gap in the process.
Henderson has been shortlisted alongside Sheffield Eagles' Mark Aston and Mike Eccles of London Broncos.
Towse meanwhile has earned a second successive nomination for the Betfred Championship Young Player of the Year, having also been shortlisted for the gong in 2022.
The winger has been an ever-present for the Knights this year, making 33 appearances in all competitions and scoring a team-high 20 tries.

York RLFC would like to encourage Knights supporters to purchase Away Standing tickets, which are priced at £20 for Adults and £17 for Concessions when bought before matchday, with the Club receiving a share of these tickets sold. Tickets for Under-18s are FREE.
Ticket prices for Away Standing tickets rise to £22 for Adults and £19 for Concessions when purchased on matchday. Tickets are also available to purchase on the gate.
