York Valkyrie will try to consolidate their place in the top four of the Betfred Womenâs Super League, when they face Huddersfield Giants at Laund Hill on Sunday (2pm)!
The Valkyrieâs 26-0 win at Leigh Leopards was their second of the season, and put them into fourth place in the table.
Huddersfield Giants sit just behind, with only points difference separating them.
York have had a tough start to the season, playing all three of the other sides classed as the âtop fourâ. Defeats by Wigan and St.Helens and a win against Leeds Rhinos left the Super League Champions with just points from their opening three games.
Huddersfield have registered wins over Warrington Wolves (40-30) and Leigh Leopards (32-6), but have suffered heavy defeats to St.Helens (36-0) and last weekend, Wigan Warriors (58-0).
Earlier this year, York beat Huddersfield 56-0 in the group stages of the Challenge Cup, with the Valkyrie running in 11 tries. Eboni Partington scored a hat-trick, while Tamzin Renouf and Jazz Rampton notched a brace each, and Ellie Williamson, Rhiannion Marshall, Sinead Peach and Savannah Andrade all scored.
Lori Halloran has some experience in her Giants squad, with England international, Amelia Brown in the back line, and former Leeds Rhino, Sam Hulme in the halves. Centre, Fran Copley is an Irish international, and former Valkyrie, Eva Izumi is also in the group, having joined the Giants for this season.
Lindsay Anfield could have a number of players back for the game, after being without a number of regulars last week. Tamzin Renouf, Sade Rihari, Kira Fitzpatrick and Rhiannion Marshall were among those who werenât involved in the game at Leigh.
York Valkyrie travel to Laund Hill, Huddersfield to face Huddersfield Giants on Sunday (2pm)!
Tickets are available to purchase on the day.
