York Knights travel to Sewell Group Craven Park to take on Betfred Super League champions, Hull KR in round 14 of this year’s competition on Friday 12th June (8pm!)

It’s the third time this season that the two clubs have met, following on from their opening night meeting at the LNER Community Stadium in February, and the Betfred Challenge Cup quarter final in April.

The Knights famously beat The Robins on that opening night encounter, with Ata Hingano’s drop goal edging them a 19-18 win.

Since then, York have gone on to pick up two more league wins, at Hull FC and at home to Toulouse Olympique, and have struggled with an injury crisis which has seen numerous players ruled out in the longer term.

Hull KR have since got their form together. They won the World Club Challenge against Brisbane Broncos, and have gone on to win eight of their 12 games so far. They sit in fifth place in the table, four points off the top. However, they head into this game on the back of two defeats, first in the Betfred Challenge Cup final against Wigan, and then a narrow 26-24 defeat at Wakefield last weekend.

York are looking to bounce back after a 30-20 defeat at Bradford, in a game which saw both Liam Harris and Jordan Thompson return from lengthy spells on the sidelines.

The last meeting at Sewell Group Craven Park ended with a 48-10 defeat in the Challenge Cup for York, who struggled to name a team on the day. Coach, Mark Applegarth could only put out 17 players for the match, which saw Myles Harrison and Joe Law make their Super League debuts on loan from Newcastle Thunder.
