York RLFC Foundation has reached a further 2500 school pupils in the city with help from York Knights' players, as part of the On the Same Team programme!
More than a dozen first team players have given their time to community visits, including Scott Galeano, Jordan Lipp and Jack Martin, who spoke to pupils at Huntington School and Robert Wilkinson Primary School. They've discussed inclusivity, anti-bullying, teamwork, and success in a series of school assemblies.
New signing, Paul Vaughan has also been out in the community already, visiting St. Oswald's Primary School and Knavesmire Primary School.
Paul McShane was joined by Jordan Thompson and Kieran Hudson for a visit to Manor CE Academy and York High School.
The 'On The Same Team' programme was set up by social care charity Community Integrated Care in partnership with the Rugby Football League (RFL), offering simple and inspiring education that helps young people to understand the impact of their words and behaviours on other people.
Funding provided by the York and North Yorkshire Office for Police, Fire, Crime and Commissioning’s Community Fund to help address bullying and discrimination. The York RLFC Foundation is currently on track to deliver this programme to over 6,000 young people in over 30 locations across York, including schools, clubs, and community groups.
On The Same Team offers simple and inspiring educational lessons that help young people to understand the impact of their words and behaviours on other people. Using the stories of rugby league role models and players it is uniquely powerful and engaging.
