Knights to host Widnes in Round One

The Knights will kick off their 2023 Betfred Championship campaign against Widnes Vikings on Sunday 5th February at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm).

Ahead of tomorrow’s full release of the 2023 schedule, the RFL and Championship clubs have today confirmed the first home matches of each team for the upcoming season.

2022 saw the Knights complete a league double over Widnes Vikings for the third consecutive season – a feat secured in each of the three completed campaigns since our return to the second tier in 2019.

The home match this season saw the Knights secure a 32-6 victory over the former world champions in March before a late Matty Marsh try sealed a 16-12 away victory at the DCBL Stadium.

Round Two will also see the Knights in home action and that weekend will see the broadcast cameras head to the LNER for our clash against rivals Bradford Bulls. The match will take place on Monday 13th February (7:45pm).

Tickets for each 2023 home match will be made available for purchase later in pre-season, along with full confirmation tomorrow of the remainder of our Betfred Championship campaign. The Knights will also confirm details of our pre-season matches in the coming weeks.

Season tickets for the 2023 season – all of which guarantee access to each home league match for both our Knights and Valkyrie teams – are available now. Full information can be found HERE.
