York Knights are delighted to confirm that forward, Jordan Thompson will remain at the club for 2026!
The 34-year old will go into his fifth season with the club, after joining from Leigh Leopards in 2022.
He’s gone on to make 125 appearances in that time for York, scoring 17 tries and picking up numerous club accolades along the way. In 2025, he was named as York Knights’ Players Player of the Year, and shortlisted for the Betfred Championship Player of the Year, alongside eventual winner, Paul McShane.
After also representing Castleford, Hull FC and Leeds in his career, he’s brought Super League experience to the club and been part of the progression which saw the Knights finish top of the Betfred Championship last season and clinch the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup at Wembley.
With 80 minute stints, often switching between loose forward and prop during matches, he’s become recognised by supporters for his relentless work in both attack and defence.
Head coach, Mark Applegarth is delighted to keep him at the Knights.
"Jordy is one of our leaders on and off the field. He's just really quality player.
"He's an absolute champion person and he sums up what this team is all about.
"He's been the leader of our pack for a number of years now and I'm sure he will be for a few more years yet."
