York Knights’ good record against London Broncos continued with a 36-6 win at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in the Betfred Championship.

After a tight first half which saw the Knights build a 10-6 lead, Mark Applegarth’s side took control to score five unanswered tries in the second half.

That included a spell of three tries in 12 minutes to be sure of clinching the points.

The result means they’ve again recorded back to back league wins, and moves them to just four points behind leaders, Halifax Panthers.

It was the Broncos that scored first, with Liam Tindall scoring from a pass from Luke Polselli, after York were caught offside deep in the London half. Chris Hellec converted.

However, that was the only time London were in front.

Scott Galeano was the first to score for York, beating the defenders to get on the end of a Liam Harris grubber kick, too far out for Harris to convert.

London had a chance to extend their lead, only for the ball to go dead before Louix Gorman could touch down.

Eventually, York cracked what had been some solid London defence, when Ben Jones-Bishop scored from a floating pass from Harris, who also added the conversion to give York the half time lead.

The opening period of the second half was where the Knights clinched the game, with two tries in three minutes.

First, Jordan Thompson stepped his way through the defence to touch down, before Sam Cook followed with one of his own. Harris converted both and York had a 16 point lead.

Another Harris pass created another chance for Jones-Bishop to score in the corner, before Oli Field strolled in to bring up the 30 point mark against a London defence that was struggling to deal with York’s play.

York went close again, only for Field’s pass to Buchanan to go through hands and into touch.

However, the Knights weren’t done, and Paul McShane put Brown in for an easy try, and McShane added the conversion from the touchline to complete a good afternoon in the capital.
