York Knights face Hull KR in their only pre-season game in the much anticipated Amsterdam Challenge on Saturday at the NRCA Stadium, Amsterdam, (2.30pm local time).
The groundbreaking event will help further showcase the sport in The Netherlands, as well as providing a needed run out for Mark Applegarth’s side ahead of the start of the Betfred Challenge Cup and Betfred Championship.
With the Knights’ pre-season game against Hunslet called off because of weather conditions, this will be the first chance to see the 2025 squad.
New faces including Kieran Buchanan, Paul McShane and Jacques O’Neill could feature for their first run out in amber and black.
It’ll be a good test for the Knights against the Betfred Super League stars, who were beaten by Wigan Warriors in last year’s Grand Final at Old Trafford.
It’s also the first run out of the year for Willie Peters’ men, who could have new signings on show including Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Michael McIlorum and Rhyse Martin, alongside the likes of Elliott Minchella and former Knights loanee and current Man of Steel, Mikey Lewis.
If you’re not making the journey to Amsterdam, you still have the chance to watch Mark Applegarth’s team take on last year’s Super League Grand Final runners-up!
You can watch the game for £4.99, via the RugbyLeague.com website, with a percentage of the revenue going to York RLFC.
