Peach wins Rugby League World magazine's Player of Year award

York Valkyrie Captain Sinead Peach has been named as Rugby League World magazine’s 2023 Betfred Women’s Super League Player of the Year!

Peach enjoyed an outstanding 2023, leading the Valkyrie to a record-breaking second successive BWSL League Leaders’ Shield and a maiden BWSL Grand Final title in her first season as sole Captain.

The hooker finished the year as the side’s joint-top try-scorer (13) and top assister (31).

The England international’s latest award follows her capture of the 2023 Woman of Steel and Julie Cronin Player of the Year at York RLFC’s End-of-Season Awards.

Peach is one of four Valkyrie stars to have earned spots in Rugby League magazine’s 2023 BWSL Team of the Year.

Woman of Steel nominee Tara Jane Stanley takes the full-back after nine tries, 22 assists, 65 goals and two drop-goals for the Valkyrie in 2023.

Grand Final try-scorer Lacey Owen and ever-present forward Liv Wood are named at centre and prop respectively.

York’s latest recruit Eboni Partington is also named in the Team of the Year after a stand-out season with St Helens.
