York RLFC legends Peter Phillippo and Adam Sullivan are the latest players to be inducted into the Hall of Fame!
Both players were formally admitted into the prestigious group at the 2026 Hall of Fame dinner, held at the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York.
Guests including Hall of Fame members and their families, enjoyed a meal provided by our partners, Purple Chilli Events Catering.
Peter Phillippo (heritage number #1193) was presented with his bespoke jacket, by team mate and fellow Hall of Fame Member, Graham Steadman.
Phillippo made 154 appearances for the club between 1981 and 1987. The hooker was part of the squad that won the 2nd Division Championship in 1980/81, featured in the 1983/84 Challenge Cup run which took York to the semi-finals, and he earned promotion to Division 1 with the side in 1984/85 - the last York team to play in the top flight until this year’s promotion to the Betfred Super League.
Adam Sullivan (heritage number #1573) received his jacket from his former team mate, Mark Cain, who is also a Hall of Fame member.
The prop forward joined York from Hull KR in 2004, and went on to make 197 appearances, scoring 20 tries in two spells, spanning 2004-2009 and 2021-2013, before injury ended his career.
A strong running, hard working forward, Sullivan was part of the 2005 National League Two winning squad, earning the Knights their first promotion since the club re-formed in 2002.
He’s also remembered for a barnstorming performance at Keighley in that promotion year, when his performance kick-started the Knights to an incredible comeback win.
Phillippo and Sullivan were selected by a committee consisting of Knights Supporters Society members, former players and journalists.
The York RLFC Hall of Fame was launched in 2013 by the Knights Supporters Society (KSS) to celebrate the storied history of rugby league in York following the Club’s formation in 1868.
There are now 30 players inducted in the York RLFC Hall of Fame, including legends such as Geoff Pryce, Graham Steadman and Willie Hargreaves.
Hall of Fame is a York RLFC event with the support of the Knights Supporters Society, and we work in partnership to continue our journey of celebrating the club’s heritage and history.
