York Knights leading try scorer, Ben Jones-Bishop is asking for your help to get Jamaica to the World Cup Qualifiers in France!

Jones-Bishop, who was part of the Jamaica squad for the tournament in England in 2022, is now hoping the “Reggae Warriors” will be part of the 2026 edition in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

To get there, they must beat France in Albi on 25th October in the Northern Hemisphere qualifier, to earn a place alongside Australia, England, Fiji, Lebanon, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga, and the winner of the southern hemisphere play off between Cook Islands and South Africa.

However, to cover essential costs of playing in France and representing their country they need to raise vital funds.

Jones-Bishop said: “Playing for Jamaica is a massive thing for me as it’s bigger than myself.

“It’s representing my family, our heritage and the people back in Jamaica. I see it as giving back to those that forged a path for me to be here and be able to do what I do.

“To have people’s support would be immense. We are a small nation with a lot of heart, colour and vibrance. The saying is ‘wi Likkle but wi tallawah’ - We’re small but mighty.

"Support would allow us to try and continue the country’s rugby league development by attaining qualification to another World Cup. That would bring more exposure and hopefully lead to players not having to constantly fund our own way to represent our nation.

“There are also sponsorship opportunities available to become a part of the reggae warriors team/journey, including kit and player sponsorship.”

If you would like to donate to help send Ben Jones-Bishop and the Jamaica Reggae Warriors to the World Cup Qualifiers in France, you can do so through their JustGiving page HERE!
