Pre-season Match Preview: Huddersfield Giants

York Knights get their first run out of 2026 when they take on Huddersfield Giants in a pre-season match at the Accu Stadium on Saturday 17th January (3pm)!

The game is also a testimonial match for Giants forward, Matty English.

It’ll be the first chance for Knights’ supporters to see the new look squad ahead of their first ever season in the Betfred Super League.

New signings including, Jordan Lipp, Sam Wood, Paul Vaughan and Josh Griffin could all feature for Mark Applegarth’s side, as they ramp up preparations for their opening game of the new season against reigning Super League champions, Hull KR at the LNER Community Stadium on 12th February.

It’s also the first game of 2026 for Huddersfield, who will be looking for a better season this year, after finishing 10th in the table in 2025.

Tickets are available NOW for York Knights pre-season game at the Accu Stadium against Huddersfield Giants on Saturday 17th January (3pm)!

Tickets are priced at £15 for Adults, £5 for Juniors U17's and free for U5's, with car parking free. Both Town Avenue and St Andrews car parks will be open and are first come first serve.
