Welcome to our matchday guide for York City Knights v Newcastle Thunder in the Betfred Championship on the 4th July.
This guide will provide information to help you make the most of your matchday experience.
Travel to the Game
Walk
There are good pedestrian links to the site via Jockey Lane, the footpath from New Lane and from Malton Road.
Cycle
There is plenty of Cycle Parking located around the West, North and East Stands of the stadium.
Bus
Why not see if you can catch the iconic York City Knights bus from York City Centre and arrive in style. First York are proud to partner with York City Knights, and with frequent buses it makes it easy to support the Knights at the brand new LNER Community Stadium. Car
Parking is available in the matchday club car park (accessed through the Monks Cross Park & Ride- YO32 9JU), tickets can be purchased in advance from the Ticket office on 01904 942232, they cost £5 per match and provide an easy matchday parking option.
Please be aware other parking areas around Vangarde have a 2-hour limit with an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system in place.

Entry to the Ground
Entry for fans into the ground will be staggered, this is to aid with social distancing and to reduce crowding before the game. Please see the list below outlining when your arrival time is:

You may be temperature checked upon entry to the ground. However, if you display any Covid symptoms we request that you stay away from the stadium and follow government guidance.
We ask that all spectators wear a mask while they are in the ground and upon entering/exiting the venue.
In the event you have lost your ticket please come to the Stadium Ticket Office located next to the York City Knights shop Monday to Friday 10.00-16.00 or contact the Ticket office via email Info@yorksmc.co.uk or call 01904 942232.
Although we encourage people to pre-book their tickets for this event in advance, tickets can be purchased on the day both online and from the ticket office.
You and your bags may be searched for security measures in line with the ground regulations.
We ask that you scan your ticket at the turnstile in order to gain entry, a steward will be on-site to assist your needs and to ascertain if need to gain access through an Exit gate if there is a requirement. Please scan you ticket and push the turnstile forward to gain entry. For smart phone phones please ensure they are on their full brightness and the barcode is large enough to be scanned.
You will be socially distanced from other supporters when you are sitting down. Please follow the Covid secure signage i.e. (one-way system in toilets). There are hand sanitising stations throughout the stadium.
During the Game
The concession kiosks around the concourses will be open for this game. You are permitted to bring your own food in a clear plastic bag to help with searching and a drink i.e. plastic bottle (sports cap bottles only) or a hot drinks flask, please dispose of your litter in the correct manner.
Flags are permitted however they must be certified as fireproof and no sticks should be holding those flags.
Unfortunately, Programmes and Pot of Gold Tickets will not be available for this game.
After the Game
When leaving the stadium please can you ensure social distancing. Exit gates will be opened to ease flow and will be supervised by a steward. You will be informed when your block of seating is permitted to leave by the stewards.
