Va'a signs for Knights!

York Knights have added young front row forward, Xavier Va’a to their squad, thanks to support from Squad Builder!
He's signed a two year deal, keeping him with the club until the end of 2027.
The 22 year-old came through the Sydney Roosters’ pathways, and he also spent time as a junior at Brisbane Broncos.
He made his NRL debut for the Roosters in 2025, making one appearance, coming from the bench and scoring in the win over Cronulla Sharks. He’s also got 44 appearances in the New South Wales Cup under his belt, and he’s captained Queensland in the Under 19’s State of Origin.
A highly rated prop, Va’a will add more size and strength to the York pack.
Coach, Mark Applegarth believes he'll add a lot to the Knights' pack.
"I'm delighted that we've got Xavier over the line," he said.
"He comes highly recommended and his footage looks exactly like the sort of player we were after, but more importantly he seems the kind of player who will fit the culture we have at York.
"He's come here to improve and to make his mark and he'll add a lot of depth to our pack and a lot of punch. I'm delighted that we've got him."
Xavier added: "It’s a fresh new start for me. I’ve heard a lot of great things about York, the area and the Club. It just felt right to take this opportunity. Honestly I’m so grateful and excited.
I’m looking forward to meeting all the boys and getting to work."
