York Valkyrie are delighted to announce that forward Alisha Clayton has been appointed as Co-Captain of GB Teachers for the 2023 season.
Clayton, a Teaching Assistant at St Mary's Primary School in Boston Spa, will share the captaincy with Bradford Bulls star Amy Boardman.
The prop forward, who is proudly sponsored by Marcia Inn Bishopthorpe, represented the GB Teachers last year against England Students.
Valkyrie Director of Rugby Lindsay Anfield, who is proudly sponsored by Acomb Travel, said: “I’m really proud to see Alisha handed the role of GB Teachers Co-Captain.
“Alisha had quite a tough season last year after picking up a back injury early on in 2022, so for her to bounce back as well as she has done is fantastic.
“We’re all looking forward to seeing her take the field for GB Teachers team in the RFL President’s Cup.”
York Valkyrie begin their home campaign in the 2023 Betfred Women's Super League against St Helens at the LNER Community Stadium on Sunday 16th April (3pm).
