Four York Valkyrie stars took part in the Brayton Academy Sports Day involving more than 900 students last week!
England centre Tamzin Renouf and Wales winger Georgia Taylor, who are teachers at Brayton Academy, were joined by France international Mahault Pommier and England Knights prop Jess Sharp at the Selby school.
The quartet of Valkyrie aces helped ensure that rugby league was a prominent feature of the school's Sports Day involving 900 pupils - the largest tag rugby festival that the Foundation has been involved with.
The Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final trophy was also paraded around the school, having been won for the first time in the Valkyrie's history last year.
During the Sports Day, the students spent the day off timetable with each year group rotating around the various stations and sporting activities.
With each year group assigned a country to represent, team points were allocated based upon victories across numerous events.
York RLFC Foundation Delivery Manager Adam Prentis said: "We are proud to represent both the York Knights and Knights Valkyrie and to help promote our sport and the positive role models we have at the Club.
"We were delighted to see so many boys and girls take part in such an amazing mass participation event at Brayton Academy.
"I'd like to thank Brayton Academy and PE Teacher Mr Howard for the invitation and opportunity to be part of the school's Sports Day and thank them for attending our Secondary School Rugby League Festivals earlier in the academic year."
York Valkyrie star and Brayton Academy PE Teacher Georgia Taylor said: "This year we introduced the exciting addition of tag rugby, which was a fantastic day that allowed me to combine my two passions.
"two of my York Valkyrie team-mates joined myself and Tamzin to host the tag rugby tournaments as one of the sports day events.
"Over 900 students had the opportunity to be experience Rugby League, and it was wonderful to see them fully engaged and having a great time!"
