York RLFC’s matchday on Sunday 1st June has been designated as the club’s third Inclusion Day!
Alongside the Betfred Women's Super League game between York Valkyrie and St.Helens, and York Knights match against Sheffield Eagles in the Betfred Championship, our Wheelchair and Learning Disability team will also be in action!
There will be a Wheelchair Rugby League Festival in the Sports Hall at the LNER Community Stadium from 11.30am to 2pm. The Knights will play against two teams from Sheffield Eagles, and one from Bradford Bulls in a mini development festival.
Admission is free of charge.
Over at the University of York St.John's Sports Fields, Haxby Road, York, YO31 8TA, we are holding a regional Learning Disability Super League Festival from 10.30 to 1pm. There will be 16 teams attending from the region's Foundations who will play a Tag Rugby League round of games. There is no score or winner with LDSL and the focus is on inclusion, participation and fun.
The LDRL teams will then head over to the stadium to take part in pre match duties including flag bearing and guard of honour. They will then get the opportunity to play on the pitch at half time of the men's fixture.
