York RLFC will be part of the Betfred Championship next season, following the announcement of IMG club gradings for 2025.
Every club in the Betfred Super League, Championship and League 1 has been rated as part of IMG’s Reimagining Rugby League recommendations.
Those ratings were through five categories of on-field performance, fandom, finances, stadium and community.
York has been given a score of 12.42, meaning a “B” grading, and a ranking of 15th in the overall list.
The club gradings determined membership of the Betfred Super League in 2025 as part of IMG’s Reimagining Rugby League recommendations.
There are 12 places available in Super League.
York RLFC chair, Clint Goodchild said:
“We are really happy to see an improvement of over two points from the indicative ratings released last year.
“Our goal is to continue on our journey, so it’s business as usual and we plan to continue to grow.
“These scores are something that are reviewed every year and we predict further increases as our three year averages start to include numbers from our 2024 and 2025 seasons.”
