School Holidays 

 

York RLFC Foundation are delighted to confirm our 2024 Summer School Holiday programme, with more than 55 sessions taking place across York and North Yorkshire!

 

The Foundation’s School Holiday programme plays a vital role in our local community by providing children with enjoyable, active and free sessions and inspiring the next generation of York Knights and York Valkyrie stars.

 

This summer, the York RLFC Foundation will stage over 55 sessions, across a dozen venues and set to reach more than 1,200 children.

 

Our events, which are targeted at children aged 5-13, are generally made up of our familiar FREE, turn-up-and-play inflatable sessions, multi-sport sessions alongside our day camps, which do require advance booking.

 

The 2024 Summer School Holiday programme is delivered thanks to our several partners, which includes support from the City of York Council, FEAST and Local Council Ward Committee.

 

Refreshments will be provided for all attendees, including fruit, snacks, and drinks, thanks to Simon Baynes Wholesale.

 

All of our sessions listed below are open-access, free-to-attend sessions thanks to the HAF funding received but we encourage eligible families to book to secure a food order and a place on the session.

 

In the event of poor weather conditions, the Foundation would still attend the event and make a decision on the activity that is able to take place with the weather forecast in mind.

 

Holiday Activities with Food (HAF) Programme – Important Information

 

Any child who is eligible for free school meals, can book onto one of our HAF session(s) and reserve a place through the Holiday Activities and Food Yor-OK webpage.

 

Eligible families will receive a code through your school. If you believe you are eligible but don’t receive a code please speak to your school or use the contact details on the HAF website to request the code.

 

By using the pre-booking system, we can evidence and demonstrate the need for such sessions to continue in the future. For those families wishing to request a free pre-packed meal at any of our sessions, we ask you to book onto the session at least three working days prior to the session to have a meal ready for you to collect at the session.

 

Please note meals are allocated when booking on a first come first request basis with a limited number of meals made available for each session. The Holiday Activities Website allows families using the code received from your child’s school to book on a wide range of providers including York RLFC Foundation.

Families and children not eligible for free school meals do not need to book on this system however, priority for meals will be given to those who are eligible in line with the funding we have received.

​

Refreshments will be provided for all attendees, including fruit, snacks, and drinks.

​
