Akwiwu is in her second season with the Valkyrie, after initially joining the club in July 2025 after a spell in rugby union. 

She made five appearances in 2025, scoring one try in the 86-0 win over Warrington Wolves.

A former Leeds Rhinos Academy player, she made her Super League debut in 2021, before suffering an ACL injury. She returned to action the following season, making four appearances in total for Lois Forsell’s side, and scoring one try.
