25-year old Lekuru is a trailblazer for Ugandan Rugby League, becoming the first player from the country to sign for a team the Betfred Women’s Super League.

The move has come from the Valkyrie’s support of the development of the sport in Uganda.

Lekuru was a Tag Tugby Trust graduate and later became a TRT leader, while also pursuing her own career in rugby union and league.

She led the Entebbe Baleen to victory in the URL finals in 2023, and made her Valkyrie debut in the win against Leigh Leopards in July 2025.
