One of the unsung heroes of Sunday’s Betfred Championship victory over London Broncos was winger Joe Brown, sponsored by Purple Chilli Events, who, as he has done so regularly during the early stages of his Knights career, once again racked up over 150 metres for the team.
Discussing the performance as a whole, Brown pointed to the importance of leaving with the victory.
“It was a good win in the end on a long day. We were really happy to get the two points. There are parts of the performance that we can and will fix up but yeah, we’re really happy to get the two points and it’s a good base to build on.”
Despite his efforts, Brown is still waiting for his first four-pointer in Knights colours but, modestly, points to working hard as being the most important thing for the team.
“It’s a bit frustrating that the middles have scored more than me! As long as I keep doing my bit and working hard for the team, that’s all that matters. It’ll be nice to get over the line when that happens, though, but until then it’s all about doing my bit and working hard!”
Inside him, centre James Glover crossed for his second of the campaign and Brown expressed his belief that the partnership the two have formed on the Knights’ right edge is a good one.
“We’ve got a good understanding of each other and we’ve played against each other a few times so we know what each of our strengths are and that will only get better as the season goes on.”
The Knights return to action this Sunday in the Betfred Challenge Cup, visiting Whitehaven as we look to reach Round Six of the prestigious competition. We are pleased to be running a supporters bus for the trip and full details – including how to book your seat – is available HERE.
