Nofoaluma signs deal with York Knights!

York Knights have agreed a two year deal with winger, David Nofoaluma, thanks to support from Squadbuilder!

The former NRL winger spent 2026 on loan with the Knights from Newcastle Thunder, who he joined when his previous club, Halifax Panthers went out of business.

He made his debut for York in Round 3 of Betfred Super League at Hull FC, where he scored two tries to help his team to a 17-16 win at the MKM Stadium.

Nofoaluma went on to be a regular in the York team, mainly on the wing but also covering at full back, making 21 appearances and scoring 15 tries.

His final try of the season came in Round 27 at the LNER Community Stadium against Bradford Bulls, when he followed up his own kick to score.

The Samoa international previously made two Super League appearances for Salford, but it’s the NRL in Australia where he’s spent most of his career. He spent ten seasons at Wests Tigers, and scored 100 tries in those colours.

After leaving Salford, he played for Pia Donkeys in France before returning to play in England with Halifax.

Head coach, Mark Applegarth said: "David on his day is one of the best wingers in the league.

"He's a big name that's been on a fantastic journey to get back to the top of the sport in terms of club level.

"A great character to have around, I really enjoy working with David and I think he's still got his best rugby in front of him."

Nofoaluma added: “Grateful for the journey, ready for what's next. See you all in 2027"
