York Knights have retained full back, Will Dagger on an upgraded contract for 2026, thanks to support from Squad Builder!
The 26-year old joined the club for 2024 from Wakefield Trinity having also played in the top flight for Warrington Wolves and Hull KR.
Although he’s been troubled by injury since joining York, he’s made 21 appearances over the last two years, scoring six tries and 59 goals playing both at full back and in the halves.
He also made four appearances for York on dual registration from Hull KR in 2018, which was the year the Knights won Betfred League 1.
Coach, Mark Applegarth is delighted to keep Dagger.
"He got a bit of an injury that disrupted his year last year, so he had to be really patient, trting to wait for his way back in the team.
"But he's come back in really good shape and he looks like he's got the bit between his teeth to earn that number one shirt back.
"I'm really looking forward to working with him again."
Dagger said "A new league. A new challenge!
"Myself, the lads and the coaching staff are all up for it and we can’t wait to do the city proud."
