Gale to stay with Valkyrie!

York Valkyrie half-back, Liv Gale has agreed a new two year deal, thanks to the support of Squad Builder!

After missing the whole of 2025 with injury, the 21-year old has been working her way back to fitness. She needed surgery in the off season after a knee injury at the end of 2024.

After joining York in 2022 from Oulton Raidettes, she became one of the best young talents in the Betfred Women’s Super League. She went on to play a part in the League Leaders’ Shield win in 2023 and was part of the squad that won the League Leaders’ Shield and Grand Final in 2024, although injury ruled her out of the end of the season.

Gale’s performances saw her rewarded with the Valkyrie’s 2023 Young Player of the Year award and a first call-up to the England Knights squad in 2024.

On staying with the club, Gale said: "I can’t wait to go again with the Valks in 2026 after my ACL reconstruction last year.

"I'm fired up and ready to give everything."
