Jubb hails effort in Barrow victory

One of the Knights’ most consistent performers once again this season has been Will Jubb and the hooker exemplifies the committed spirit within the men’s squad.

With eight wins from our opening ten Betfred Championship matches, confidence is high within the group and Monday’s victory at Jubb holds Monday’s victory at Barrow as not only one of the best performances of the season but as one of the best throughout his time with the Knights.

“It was one of the most together performances I’ve been involved in at the club. To defend like we did in that second half and to withstand all that pressure, to chase back and defend set upon set… it showed our togetherness as a group and showed how far we have come as a bunch of people.”

A moment in the victory at Barrow that perhaps showcased the squad’s mentality was the desire in chasing down pacey Raiders winger Tee Ritson in the second half.

“There were some massive efforts in there to chase him down. He’s really quick and yeah, we had blokes chasing him back left, right and centre before Liam (Harris) pulled off that tackle in the corner.

“It just shows what we’re all about and it’s great to be a part of it.”

Jubb was with the Knights during the memorable 2019 campaign, one that saw the recently-promoted Knights finish in third, and the former Hull KR man sees similarities from that year in this season’s squad.

“Everyone gets on really well, we train really hard and get the best out of each other. It’s really enjoyable to be playing like this and being part of the group.

“It’s got a feel of 2019 again and that’s something we all really want to build on.”
