York City Knights are pleased to confirm details of our exciting Coral Challenge Cup Round 5 game against Rochdale Hornets.
The game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday, 15th March and will take place at Bootham Crescent.
The Knights face a tough prospect in a rejuvenated Rochdale Hornets club who were recently taken over by well respected Chairman Andy Mazey, who along with coach Matt Calland has started to assemble a promising squad of top local amateur talent mixed with high level experience - most notably on-loan Leigh half back Martin Ridyard - as they look to make an immediate return to the Betfred Championship in 2020.
The Hornets have already faced York opposition in the 2020 Coral Challenge Cup, when they overcame York Acorn 54-10 in Round 3. Coincidentally the Hornets also beat British Army by the same 54-10 scoreline in Round 4. The Knights produced an impressive performance to beat former Super League side London Broncos in Round 4, thanks to a thrilling last minute try from Jimmy Keinhorst down in the capital.
York last faced Rochdale in the Challenge Cup as lower league opponents back in March 2017, memorably running out 26-20 winners at the start of the Jon Flatman era of the club.
Tickets for this exciting game are priced at just £15 Adults and £10 Concessions, with Under 16s completely free.
Please note that there are no advance tickets for this game, with cash turnstiles available on the day. It is a split shared gate so season tickets will not be eligible for this game.
We look forward to welcoming both sets of fans for what promises to be a great afternoon of entertainment. See you there!
