Lindsay Anfield has named her preliminary squad for Sunday’s match against Wigan Warriors at the LNER Community, the Knights Ladies’ final home match of this Betfred Women’s Super League regular season.
Four new arrivals from Catalans Dragons Women are included after the Knights’ training camp in the South of France this week, recruits who have added depth to Anfield’s squad that was down to just fifteen fit players for this weekend’s match.
French internationals Elisa Akpa, Anais Fourcroy, Margot Canal and Leila Besshali have all been registered in time to be in contention for Sunday with all four keen to get further gametime ahead of this year’s Rugby League World Cup after the French domestic season’s recent culmination.
Kelsey Gentles, one of the Knights’ England hopefuls, returns to the squad but the likes of Olivia Gale and Olivia Wood have joined Georgie Hetherington, Grace Field and Alisha Clayton in the physio room.
Victory on Sunday against a team the Knights have already beaten twice in competitive matches this year will see York go into a final round match at Leeds Rhinos with their destiny in their own hands as they hunt a maiden Super League League Leaders’ Shield.
Tickets are available now from the York Stadium Management Company Ticket Office online HERE and will also be available on Sunday from the Ticket Office Booth within the Main Hub of the LNER Community Stadium. Tickets are priced at £5 for both adults and concessions with under-16s going free.
