đŸ€Â York RLFC Match Previews are proudly sponsored by David Lloyd York!

York Valkyrie end their regular season in the Betfred Women’s Super League at Leeds Rhinos on Sunday at AMT Headingley (3pm)!

It’s a game which sees the teams in third and fourth place come in the table up against each other as they prepare for the end of season play offs.

York could still catch second place St.Helens, but as well as beating Leeds, they’d need Saints to lose at Leigh Leopards and then be able to overturn a points difference of 122.

The Valkyrie sit three points ahead of Leeds in the table, having won 10 of their 13 games. They include a 24-16 win over the Rhinos at the LNER Community Stadium in May, when Zoe Hornby and Tara Moxon (2) scored against their former club. Eboni Partington and Emma Kershaw also crossed the whitewash. In reply for Leeds, Frankie Blakey, Jenna Greening and Izzy Northrop all went in.

Leeds are still to beat any of the top four in the league this season, but they’ve won their last four games heading into this fixture.

Last weekend’s 28-4 win at Huddersfield also saw the return from injury of some potentially key players. England international, Caitlin Beevers is back after a long term knee problem to strengthen their backs, while England hooker, Keara Bennett returned to the bench along with former York forward, Lacey Owen.

York scored nine tries last week at Barrow in a 48-6 win which included a number of changes to the Valkyrie line up. Under 19s player, Liv Turner and Ruby Ellis both made their debuts, and there was a start for T’Leesha Frederick-Maynard who also came through the Under 19s.

This week could see Georgie Dagger, Zoe Hornby and Jas Bell all come back in after not being included for the trip to Cumbria.

Follow York Valkyrie to AMT Headingley to see if they can end their regular season with a win over rivals Leeds Rhinos!

Tickets are on sale now, priced at ÂŁ10 for adults and free entry for juniors and are available HERE!
