York RLFC Foundation offer free places for the 2026 York 10K!

York RLFC Foundation is inviting members of the public to help raise funds for the Foundation by running in this year’s York 10K Run For All on Sunday 2nd August!

Our incredible York RLFC Foundation team is looking for fans, parents, teachers and anyone else from our community to join the York 10K team this year, with the aim of raising money through sponsorship. We're offering charity places for runners to raise funds for community projects, including Wheelchair and Disability rugby league teams.

The 2026 event takes place on Sunday 2nd August, over a flat, fast course, starting and finishing at Knavesmire Road close to York Racecourse and going through the historic streets of York. The route takes in some of the city’s most historic landmarks, including the ancient city walls, Clifford’s Tower and York Minster.

Participants willing to represent York RLFC and raise funds for the club’s Foundation are asked to raise a minimum of £100 to support costs and to support the Foundation.

Anyone who has already purchased a space in the York 10K directly through Run For All but would like to raise money for York RLFC Foundation should they wish, will not be given a fundraising target.

This event has an electric community atmosphere from start to finish, with thousands of runners of all abilities set to run through the heart of the beautiful City of York, raising lots of money for so many fantastic causes.

York RLFC Foundation Community Coach Mark Prangnell said: “Once again, we are delighted to offer the opportunity for any willing volunteers to run the York 10K on behalf of the Foundation.

"Over the last 3 years, our volunteers have raised a significant amount of money through the York 10K, and we would love to continue this trend again in 2026 by offering free places to any willing volunteers.

"All funds raised will once again go directly into the work the Foundation delivers in the local community as well as our Wheelchair Rugby League team, Disability Rugby League team and our Player Development Programmes.”
