York Knights’ Forward of the Year, Jack Martin, has committed to the club for 2026, thanks to the support of Squad Builder!
The 24 year old arrived at the Knights late in 2024, and he’s gone on to become a fans’ favourite with some barnstorming performances at prop.
He started 31 games for the Knights in 2025, scoring 6 tries.
The former Queensland U19s representative moved to York from Wynum Manly Seagulls, and he’s gone on to become one of the first names on the teamsheet for coach Mark Applegarth.
He was part of the teams which won the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup at Wembley, lifted the Befred Championship League Leaders' Shield and reached the Grand Final.
Applegarth said: "Jack Martin is still young.
"He does a lot of the tough stuff. He's a throwback to your old school front rower.
"He enjoys doing the hard stuff that it says on the tin - just no nonsense, straight up and down and he never shirks a carry. He puts his head where it hurts.
"He's got a great work rate and is always looking to improve. I'm delighted to get him over the line."
Martin has said: "Re-signing for York was a no brainer for me and one of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made.
"We’ve got a great set of coaching staff here, who are even better people and the playing group is one of the best I’ve been a part of.
"Super excited to be in Super League in 2026 and can’t wait to rip in with the boys."
