York Valkyrie have recaptured the signature of former England international, Carrie Roberts, thanks to support from Squad Builder!
Part of the 2023 and 2024 Grand Final winning squads, Roberts spent two years with York after leaving St.Helens to focus on her career in the military. She went on to score 18 tries in 21 appearances across two seasons.
She’s now back at York for a second stint, linking up with new coach, Leon Pryce.
The 37-year-old also had success at St Helens, winning the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup, BWSL League Leaders’ Shield and BWSL Grand Final treble in 2021.
Roberts also won the 2022 Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup with St Helens, playing in the final against Leeds Rhinos.
She was also part of the 2022 England World Cup squad, and scored for her country in the 54-4 win over Canada.
On her return to the Valkyrie, Roberts said: "Stepping away gave me perspective, but this club has always stayed with me.
"I'm proud to be back with the Valks and I can’t wait to feel that moment of stepping onto the pitch again."
